Pan-Am EvoDevo (PASEDB) Meeting Support Award
Goals: The goal of this funding initiative is to support meetings, symposia, or other activities that promote The Pan-American Society of Evolutionary Developmental Biology and its mission to promote the study of evolutionary developmental biology in all organisms and provide a forum for establishing collaboration, communication and promoting education in the field of evolutionary developmental biology.
Eligibility:
Awards: Awards are dependent on available funding. A typical award will be ~ $1000 (USD). Awards may fund travel for speakers, student presentation awards, student/postdoc lunches, workshops, or other expenses. There is no deadline for the submission of applications, but applications should be submitted to [email protected] at least three months prior to the scheduled event.
Applications: Applications must include the following information.
1) The title, date, and location of the meeting, symposium, or other event for which funding is being requested.
2) Name, position, affiliation, and contact information of the applicant and all organizers of the event.
3) A short explanation of the purpose of the meeting, symposium, or other event.
4) A statement of how the meeting will help promote the Pan-American Society of Evolutionary Biology and its mission.
5) A justification for the funding amount requested.
Review Process: Contingent on available funding, applications will be reviewed by the executive committee of the Pan-American Society of Evolutionary Biology. Decisions on what events to fund and how much funding to provide will be made by the executive committee. Funding decisions will be based on availability of funds and the degree to which the event supports the mission of The Pan-American Society of Evolutionary Developmental Biology.

Eligibility:
- The applicant and at least one organizer of the event must be members in good standing of The Pan-American Society of Evolutionary Developmental Biology. The applicant may also be the organizer of the event.
- The event must promote The Pan-American Society of Evolutionary Developmental Biology and its mission.
- The event must broaden participation by promoting diversity and inclusion in terms of speakers and other invited participants. Gender, career stage, geographic origin, membership in groups unrepresented in science, and other dimensions of diversity should be considered when forming the Invited Speaker list.
- The event must have a code of conduct that ensures equal opportunity and treatment for all participants. The code of conduct must protect participants from sexual harassment and harassment of any nature.
- The applicant agrees to promote the Pan-American Society of Evolutionary Developmental Biology by projecting a slide provided by the society to announce the Award between sessions
