Mission
The mission of the society is to promote the study of evolutionary developmental biology in all organisms and provide a forum for establishing collaboration, communication and promoting education in the field of evolutionary developmental biology. The society welcomes scientists from all over the world who are interested in evolutionary developmental questions spanning all levels of biological diversity.
Statement Against Racism & Racial Inequality
The heinous murder of George Floyd has left our hearts heavy. As has the murder of Breonna Taylor. And Ahmaud Arbery. And countless others whose names we know, and those whose names we don't know. PASEDB represents a diverse and international community of evolutionary developmental biologists. As a society, our purpose is to further the goals of the evo-devo community, but we also recognize systemic prejudice in the sciences.
We stand united with those fighting to end racial and systemic injustices. We continue to strive for racial equity and seek to elevate Black voices in our community! Systemic injustice is not limited to the USA or to Black communities but we want to be clear that Black Lives Matter.
We recognize the strength of diversity in our community and our science. We are working to improve, to listen, and to make space. PASEDB is working to reflect and promote the diversity of our members and the larger scientific community. Representation matters. Please reach out to our Secretary, our Diversity Officer, or any of our Current Board Members if you have suggestions for how we can improve.
